Several changes are on the horizon for my family and me.
- In August, we are expecting our 3rd child…a baby boy! We are all very excited, but I doubt our girls truly understand the impact this will have on our family.
- This summer, the D/HH (deaf/hard of hearing) program that I work in will be changing schools. Not only will this entail moving a ton of materials, resources, etc., but we will be educating an entirely new school (administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, students, etc.) on how to teach and work with children who have a hearing loss.
- Since I’ll be having a baby in August, I’ll miss at least 6 weeks of school right as we are making this huge transition.
And…I think I’ll stop right there. I’m getting a little overwhelmed even as I type that out.
I think we can all agree that change is scary. I’ve looked up several quotes about change searching for just the right one to add to this post. Either I can’t find it or it doesn’t exist. But I did see an image similar to this one that really spoke to me.
I can choose to worry about the changes that I have limited control over or embrace the chances and opportunities that I will be given. I have decided that I am going to make a more conscious effort to focus on the chances.
Do you have any tips for dealing changes or chances that you’d like to share? I’m all ears!
